The OPPO Reno Ace was recently unveiled. Along with it was a special edition of the phone which celebrates the 40th anniversary of Gundam, aptly named the OPPO Reno Ace Gundam Edition.
As far as specs go, the OPPO Reno Ace Gundam Edition shares most of the hardware as the OPPO Reno Ace. Some of these include the 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 charging, 90Hz display, quad rear camera, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC. The difference lies in its memory configuration and, of course, the design and the Gundam Edition is mighty sexy.
The overall color and design of the phone take inspiration from the OG Gundam, the RX-78-2. From the mainly white body with blue and red accents on the phone to the mainly red color on the case with the iconic yellow cross logo of the Earth Federation Space Force (E.S.F.S), it’s a thing of beauty especially for fans of the popular franchise.
The phone and case also have E.S.F.S on them which refers to the branch of the Earth Federation Forces that the RX-78-2 belonged to. The OPPO Reno Ace Gundam Edition also features lines and rivet details to add to the overall Gundam feel. It also comes with a red cable for charging with white and yellow accents.
The OPPO Reno Ace Gundam Edition packs 8GB and 256GB storage. It is currently available only in China and priced at CNY 3,599 (around PHP 26,200). The Gundam Edition will be available starting November 11 and will only have 30,000 units available.
