The Xiaomi Redmi 8 was spotted in China Telecom’s website, which may indicate that the release of the phone is pretty close as well as approval from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
The Redmi 8 will have a 6.21-inch 720p+ display with a plastic body. It is expected to share the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 with the Redmi 8A. As far as RAM and storage go, it’s reported to have up to 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, double the capacity of the 8A.
Its cameras are composed of a 12MP main shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. There’s also an 8MP selfie camera. Powering the device is a 5000mAh battery charged via a USB-C port. The Redmi 8 is also expected to have a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Based on the China Telecom listing, Xiaomi Redmi 8 will come in various colors – Red, Green, Blue, and Black. Its CNY 1599 price tag may not be final, as the better-specced Redmi 7 currently retails for CNY 900.
