Google has just rolled out YouTube Premium and Music (along with the Premium service) in the Philippines and six other Asian countries including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand.
Music is a music streaming service with two tiers, the base service, and the Premium service. The Premium version of Music allows users to listen to music/videos ad-free along with the option to download for an offline experience. It also allows users to listen to videos in the background. The Premium service also comes with Google Play Music membership as well. This offers even more options for song searches and more for users.
YouTube Premium is as premium as it gets. It includes all the features of YouTube Music Premium as well as ad-free videos on the app and website, the ability to download videos on the app, background playback, and access to YouTube Originals.
YouTube Premium has a 2-month free trial and will cost PHP 159 per month after the trial period. While YouTube Music Premium has a 1-month free trial and will cost PHP 129 per month after the trial period.
This changes the landscape of streaming services for both video and audio in the Philippines. From the unique content from our favorite YouTubers to full live performances, the Premium service just brings diversity. We’re just thrilled to see it rolled out in the region and, more especially, the country.
