The Huawei Mate 30 Pro is one of the best smartphones released in 2019. However, its launch was instead overshadowed by the US trade ban which barred companies like Google to do business with the Chinese tech company.
The latest Huawei flagship even without Google services is still impressive – from its design to its camera. As a testament to its flagship status, the Mate 30 Pro recently underwent the durability test of tech YouTuber JerryRigEverything. The test includes scratching and burning the ultra-curved Horizon Display as well as a bend test.
Unsurprisingly, the Mate 30 Pro performed up to par with most phones in its price range. The Horizon Display held up even with a lighter being put close to it. It lasted 25 seconds until the burns were visible on screen but shortly after returned to normal.
The body, like the display, performed well in the bend test. It proved to be built well with a rigid body that prevented cracks on the front or the rear of the phone.
At PHP 50,990, the durability of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro is expected. It’s just great to see a phone survive extreme circumstances especially one that is on the more premium side of the price spectrum.

That said though, he still has the mentality of "as long as it works" for his personal gadgets.
