Canon Launches EOS-1D X Mark III in PH!

In aim of showcasing the latest innovations in camera technology, Canon recently launched its newest flagship DSLR to the Philippine market. Welcome, the EOS-1D X Mark III.

Canon EOS-1D X Mark III (20)EOS-1D X Mark III utilizes Canon’s newest AF sensor, which offers up to 191 AF points. All of which support exposure of up to f/8, with 65 cross-type AF points at f/8. This make the device suitable for sports and and wildlife photography. The new sensor is also 40 times faster compared to the sensor on the EOS-1D X Mark II.

Canon EOS-1D X Mark III (13)It also uses the new DIGIC X image processor, which offers an increased ISO speed of up to 102,400. There’s also a dedicated DIGIC 8 processor for the camera’s AF management and control of its 400,000-pixel RGB+IR metering sensor. It also uses a newly developed 16-point low pass filter to reduce moire and color distortion.

Canon EOS-1D X Mark III (15)The camera is also one of the first to support HDR PQ HEIF, a 10-bit recording standard for stills. HEIF files can be easily converted to JPEG format. This features eliminates the need for RAW development retouching and gamma adjustment process.

Canon EOS-1D X Mark III (11)Burst shooting using the EOS-1D X Mark III now has increased speeds of 16 fps and up to 20 fps for Live View shooting for both RAW + JPEG recording. It also offers unprecedented tracking and focusing accuracy, even for fast moving subjects and during burst shooting at a speed of up to 20 fps.

Canon EOS-1D X Mark III (10)The camera stores its images in the new dual CFexpress card slots – today’s leading format in high-speed data transfer. Alongside its extended buffer memory, means you can take up to 1000 RAW shots, which is 5 times more compared to the EOS-1D X Mark II.

It’s the first full-frame from Canon to feature 4K UHD (3840 x 2160, 16:9) video recording with no cropping. Additionally, it also supports the 4K DCI (4096 x 2160, 17:9) standard, established by the Digital Cinema Initiative, as well as H.265 HEVC encoding – that means wide gradation, vivid color range, and a small file size.

Using its HDMI 4K 60p output/Canon Log 10-bit output, the EOS-1D X Mark III is able to transmit 4K movie data to another device for display or external recording. Moreover, it also supports Canon Log YCbCr 4:2:2 10-bit video output and ITU-R BT.2020 color gamut output.

In-camera 5.5K 60p RAW is also available for shooting HDR clips, high-contrast scenes, and scenes that require advanced editing. High-Speed movie shooting can be done at 120p and 100p at FHD.

EOS-1D X Mark III uses a built-in GPS receiver with support for SuperSpeed Plus USB (USB 3.1 Gen 2) transfer speed. It also has built-in Wi-Fi with FTP functions, including the WFT-E9 that comes with dual antennas compatible with dual band (2.4GHz/5GHz).

Built with rugged use in mind, the EOS-1D X Mark III is outfitted with a shutter mechanism durability of approximately 500,000 cycles, along with a sturdy magnesium alloy body with dust and moisture resistance features.

Pricing and Availability

The Canon EOS-1D X Mark III is priced at PhP399,998, and will be available in key Canon authorized partners nationwide starting March 2020.
