Google Philippines has just launched the MSME Caravan under the Grow with Google program. The caravan aims to teach micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) digital skills and introduce skills that can help them be more competitive and grow their business digitally.
The MSME Caravan will tour the country throughout the year in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). Training sessions will be held for MSME owners to be better equipped in the online space like the latest consumer insights. In addition, they will be taught about Google My Business and the Primer app.
Workshops have already started, and trained more than 2,780 MSME owners in over 20 cities across eight regions nationwide. Google and DTI hope to reach more throughout 2020 to help drive the economy forward through empowering MSMEs.
“We are glad to partner with the Department of Trade and Industry in our mission to digitize MSMEs in the country.”
– Bernadette Nacario, Country Director of Google Philippines
Google My Business is a free online listing on Google Maps and Search to help MSMEs connect with more consumers in the digital space. It also helps businesses built an online presence, control their business information, and create a free website and posts. It also includes features like reviews, Q&A pages, direct contact, and insights to name a few.
The Primer app, on the other hand, is a free mobile app wherein users can learn digital marketing skills. Skills like brand building, website, social media, digital marketing, and so much more all in one free app.
