As everyone breathed a sigh of relief with the downgraded alert level for Taal Volcano, the reality is that the community in the vicinity is now left to pick up the pieces.
Those affected have slowly started to ease back into their homes. This is anything but easy, as most of ground zero is still blanketed in volcanic ash – roads, houses, cars, everything. Air conditioners in particular, are also in need of care, given the circumstances.
Window-type and outdoor units covered in volcanic ash must be cleaned properly to ensure that the particles from the ash do not invade your home.
As a way of giving back to the community, LG Philippines offered air-con cleaning services free of charge. All residents had to do was contact an LG representative. Of course, families with children, seniors, pregnant women, and PWDs were given priority, but all requests that were eligible were immediately taken care of.
LG’s Managing Director, Inkwun Heo said that it’s was the least the company could do, as the residents have been through so much for the past two months. The company stands in its commitment to the Filipino people, and that it will be at every step of the way, doing what it can to help the people of Taal rebuild their lives.
