We’ve all seen the countless rumors, and even a hands-on video, and now, it’s here, finally. Samsung has officially debuted its new foldable smartphone at Unpacked 2020.
Galaxy Z Flip reshapes the landscape of foldable smartphones – the symbol of Samsung’s commitment of leveraging advancements in technology and design to surprise and delight users.
Designed for portability, it can simply flip into the size of a wallet, which makes it easy to fit in just about any pocket or bag. The hinge in itself is an engineering marvel, sophisticated and small to ensure that every fold is smooth and stable.
It uses a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED Infinity Flex display, which uses Samsung’s proprietary bendable Ultra Thin Glass, and a 1.1-inch Super AMOLED display for its cover, which shows the date, time, and battery status at a glance.
It’s Samsung’s first ever 21.9:9 display, and the centered front camera layout also rids the need for a notch, eliminating any distractions to your view.
Giving the device its horsepower is a Snapdragon 855+ processor, backed by 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage.
Thanks to its design, you can quickly capture high quality selfies with the rear camera – no need to unfold the device. You’ll also be able to enjoy 16:9 video recording, hands-free, no tripod, and capture spectacular Night Hyperlapse Videos or detailed low light stills with the dedicated Night Mode.
Samsung also worked closely with Google to design Flex Mode, in which the display splits to two 4-inch screens, giving you the flexibility of viewing images or content up top, while also controlling them at the bottom. Easily watch your YouTube clips on the other half, and search for other videos on the other.
Galaxy Z Flip runs on Android 10, and packs a 3,300mAh dual battery with wireless and wired fast-charging, as well as Wireless PowerShare.
