It wasn’t too long ago when we reviewed the Realme C2! A refresh, which features minute upgrades than last year’s C2, was introduced during 4Q 2020. 5 months later, we now have the latest in the hood, the Realme C3. What’s new and what’s cool? We’ll find out in this unboxing and first impressions!

Let’s talk about the baseline information before anything else. I won’t bore you with the details but here are the important things you need to remember.

  • C3 has a triple camera setup: a 12MP main, 2MP portrait and a 2MP macro.
  • This is the first smartphone in the Philippines with Helio G70 Processor. We’ll talk about that in a bit.
  • It promises an all-day battery life at 5000mAh!
  • While this one still has a Gorilla Glass 3 display, it is now bigger than its previous generations at 6.52″ HD+ display
  • This one also packs a 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage

Now, with this baseline information, I couldn’t help but tell you that this may just be the best valued budget smartphone in the market right now. Details are in the description below.

Awesome camera in a budget package!

Realme C3 12Let’s start off with its camera. You’ve got 12MP main, 2MP portrait and a 2MP macro. We took some shots with this smartphone with its various features, and we got photos with pretty decent quality. It sometimes struggles in low light conditions, but it’s impressive nonetheless.

From selfies to super macro, Realme C3 got you covered. We highly encourage you to check out Alvin Tries Tech’s, Mary Bautista’s and Isa Does Tech’s videos for their sample photos too.

Your premium games are playable!

This is the first smartphone with Helio G70 in the Philippines. When we talk about this processor, it’s important to note that this is ready for a lot of gaming. As a performance processor in the budget category, this makes the Realme C3 the first budget smartphone below PhP7,000 that can let you play premium games like Call of Duty and Black Desert at 30fps without any issues.

Black DesertBeing a graphics intensive game, Black Desert is highly playable on this smartphone. Graphics may not be similar when you play using midrange smartphones, but the framerate remained to be consistent at 30fps even while recording a gameplay.

The same goes with Call of Duty Mobile. While graphics settings is set to Low, framerate is likewise consistent on Realme C3. Links to our actual gameplays may be seen in the description below for your reference.

I also encourage you to check out JamOnline’s and Unbox’s video for their sample gameplay videos for more reference.

Bigger Screen and Battery!

Realme C3 features a 6.52-inch HD+ display with Gorilla Glass 3. While you’re stuck in playing HD videos on this device, that should be good enough when consuming content from Netflix or YouTube.

Realme C3 6 1And who would have thought that a budget smartphone can also have 5000mAh battery. While this isn’t the first smartphone to have one, it is definitely better than last year’s Realme C2 in terms of battery configuration.

Same RAM and Storage Configurations

Realme C3 13 1

While everything seems to be an upgrade, there are 2 things that are left off unchanged – RAM and Storage. Realme C3 has 3GB and 32GB internal storage, similar to last year’s C2. Nevertheless, this configuration is considered a sweet spot in terms of configuration, so I’m fine with it.

There’s still so much to cover, and we can’t wait to review this smartphone. Realme C3 will be officially launched this March 5 so stay tuned for more announcements.
