Nubia Red Magic 5G with 144Hz Display Goes Official

In a previous post, we talked about how the upcoming Nubia Red Magic may reshape the mobile gaming landscape, being the first to actually be able to do true 144fps gaming. Now, the device has been unveiled, officially.

Nubia Red Magic 5G boasts a 6.65-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 865, up to 16GB of RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage.

It also features an optical fingerprint scanner, an RGB light panel for that extra bling, and capacitive shoulder triggers with 300Hz sampling rate for minimal latency. There’s Wi-Fi 6, three microphones, and a headphone jack.

To sustain peak performance, the device is equipped with an active air-cooling system that uses a spinning fan along with a heat-sink chamber. Nubia claims that this can reduce CPU temperature by up to 18°C. It’s also utilized to prevent overheating when charging.

At the back, is a triple camera system that uses a 64MP Sony IMX686 main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro camera. Upfront is an 8MP selfie snapper.

The device runs on Red Magic OS on top of Android 10 and packs a 4,500mAh battery with 55W fast-charging. It comes in four colors – Blac, Mars Red, Cyber Neon, and a Transparent Edition.

As for pricing, it’s CNY3,799 for 8GB+128GB, CNY4,099 for 12GB+128GB, CNY4,399 for 12GB+256GB, andCNY 4,999 for the maxed out 16GB+256GB variant. The Transparent Edition will retail for CNY4,599 for 12GB+256GB and CNY5,199 for 16GB+256GB.
