Remember the ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo? the laptop with two displays? well, ASUS ROG has taken things up a notch.
Today, they announced the new Zephyrus Duo 15, a laptop that shares most of the goodies you get on the ZenBook Pro Duo, with an added touch of gaming finesse.
Zephyrus Duo’s main display is a 15.6-inch Pantone-Validated IPS panel with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, covers 100% of the Adobe RGB color space for professional work, has a whopping 300Hz refresh rate, and 3ms response time. It’s an NVIDIA G-SYNC display, so you can enjoy smooth, fluid, tear-free visuals.
Its secondary screen, ScreenPad Plus, is a 14.1-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 3840 x 1100 pixels and is primarily used to accelerate productivity by giving immediate access to essential information such as timelines, reference materials and more. With support for the ASUS Pen Active Stylus, creative tasks such as scribbling and sketching are now easier and seamless.
To facilitate better user experience, the function keys have been grouped separately, and dedicated hotkeys for volume and microphone mute are easy to reach. Add to that, ROG’s Overstroke Technology for better responsiveness, and n-key rollover for added precision. Lastly, you get per-key RGB lighting.
Powering the device is the 8-Core, 16-Thread Intel Core i9-10980HK backed by 16GB DDR4 3200MHz SDRAM, and a pair of 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD with support for Raid 0. As for the GPU, you get no less than an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super.
It’s also equipped with a dedicated GPU switch that lets you toggle between G-SYNC and Optimus modes, depending on what you want to prioritize, performance or battery life.
The device features AAS Plus, which uses a larger air intake when the touchscreen is tilted at a certain angle. This allows the fans to draw in cooler air above the laptop. The system increases airflow by up to 30% compared to the previous versions.
Connectivity-wise, you get Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) that boosts peak interface bandwidth up to 2.4Gbps and improves efficiency for busy networks. You get 3 USB 3.2 Type-A ports, an HDMI 2.0 port, an Ethernet port, and 2 3.5mm jacks.
