After tons of rumors and speculations, OnePlus finally unveiled its newest creations in its recent online event. Welcome the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro.

The Pro variant boasts an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance – the first in a OnePlus device. Its Fluid AMOLED display packs a resolution of 3160 x 1440 pixels and 120Hz high refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. OnePlus also made mention of an MEMC Chip which basically allows for smoother videos.
Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 backed by up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. It houses a 4,510mAh battery with Warp Charge 30T as well as Warp Charge 30 Wireless.
You get a 48MP Sony IMX689 main camera with OIS and EIS, a 48MP Sony IMX586 ultra-wide unit, an 8MP 3x Telephoto lens, and a 5MP Color Filter unit. Upfront, there’s a 16MP snapper with EIS. Other camera features include 30x digital zoom, Ultrawide Nightscape, and Dual Native ISO for reduced noise in low-light.

The non-pro variant has is a more compact device with a 6.55-inch FHD+ Fluid AMOLED display which boasts 90Hz refresh rate. It’s also powered by the Snapdragon 865, along with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.
The triple rear camera system is composed of a 48MP Sony IMX586 main sensor with OIS and EIS, a 16MP ultra-wide unit, and a 2MP macro shooter.
OnePlus 8 packs a slightly smaller 4,300mAh battery with Warp Charge 30T technology which delivers up to 60% charge with 30 minutes of charging time.
Both devices are capable of 4K 30fps/60fps video recording and 480fps slow-motion video recording at 720p (240fps at 1080p).
