Huawei AppGallery apps that deserve more of your attention

With the on-going health crisis, most people are staying at home to the on-going Enhanced Community Quarantine. This means that most will also resort to their gadgets not just for entertainment, but also for productivity, education, and more.

For those who are using the Huawei P40 Pro like I do, we have been using Huawei AppGallery to download the usual important applications we use on a daily basis like Facebook, Viber, Tiktok and Here Maps. We have covered some of the aforementioned apps in our previous blog, and if you want to know more about them, you may check them out.

Today, prepared a list of apps that we think will help you get through this period. Do note that this list covers a variety of categories – from multimedia, games, news, productivity, navigation, and more. (Apart from the very obvious ones).

Wattpad

wattpad huawei app galleryIs reading a good (or cheesy love story) your thing? It is for me, and what better way to do this than reading the work of both amateur and veteran writers found on this app called Wattpad.

Wattpad has a huge library of materials that you can brush on. Do remember that some locally made movies were based on the stories here. The app covers a ton of genres, with both paid and free content. There are ads here and there, but I don’t think it ruins the experience. You could always go premium, which is a must for bookworms.

VLC Player

This is one of my personal favorites, and I’ve been using its desktop version for years now.

Huawei P40 Pro App 14VLC Player has always been my go-to app when watching video content. It’s compatible with most file formats, has an easy to use interface, it’s light on hardware, and it’s free! The fact that it’s available in the growing library of Huawei AppGallery is a good indication that more upcoming apps will come its way to it.

Viu

I believe I have mentioned this before in my previous article about Huawei Y7P. I installed it again on my Huawei P40 Pro because K-Drama is life.

Huawei P40 Pro App 10Viu has a ton of new and even the classic K-Dramas such as Princess Hours (Goong). Oh, and did I mention that they also have variety shows like Running Man? A free account already lets you access most of the content with some ads, while a premium account removes ads and lets you download an unlimited amount of content to your device for online viewing, and more! I’m on premium, so that says a lot about my interests and life choices, right?

Iflix

Huawei P40 Pro App 7Last but not the least, iflix is a video streaming site that has both free and paid content. You can access a great selection of content from anime, dramas, TV shows, local and international films, and a lot more. If you want the full library, you can easily go VIP for a certain fee, but the free content is certainly enough if you’re just binge-watching.

PayMaya

One way or another, we still have bills to pay, and with the current situation, going physically to a payment facility can be tedious and a hassle. Thankfully, PayMaya app not only lets you Pay Bills for numerous merchants (I personally use it to pay my Water, Electricity and Internet Bill), but also lets you purchase prepaid load, gaming PINs and more.

Huawei P40 Pro App 9You can also use your PayMaya account to purchase commodities online, thanks to a virtual card number that it gives you. I also use it to pay my Netflix subscription, and buy games on steam! You can even send money to other users or transfer money to a bank account!

AIMP

During these times, listening to your favorite songs can really help in coping up. If you’re in need of a simple and easy-to-use music player app, that is AIMP.

Huawei P40 Pro App 11AIMP offers a very easy to use interface that lets you enjoy your local music files in an instant. Just let it scan, choose what you want to play, and that’s it. It supports playlists, and even has a built-in equalizer in case you want to fine tune the sound.

Kahoot

Staying at home means there’s more time for the family to bond. As such, Kahoot is an app that’s usually used (at least from experience) during an event to do interactive quizzes, so I figured you can also use it at home as a fun learning tool for your kids.

Huawei P40 Pro App 6I have been having fun playing this game with my kids. Since the quizzes are customizable, I can always think of crazy ways to make everything relatable and fun for the family!

Basically, Kahoot lets you do a quiz-bee style game, with your participants answering questions using their smartphones. You can freely decide on the questions, and the app automatically computes the scores for each participant.

LalaFood

Huawei P40 Pro App 2Of course, there will be a lot of days when you’ll be too tired or too busy to cook, even when at home. Thankfully, apps like LalaFood lets the food come to you. With access to numerous restaurants to your area, your favorites will most likely be there. The cost is of course a bit higher due to the delivery fee, but think of it as paying for convenience. So there you have it. These are just some of the apps that you can readily download from the Huawei AppGallery. As you can see, these are the same apps that can be found on Google PlayStore. If you are still looking for the apps you usually download via Google PlayStore, you can always download AppGo via Huawei AppGallery. This app lets you easily find the apps from third party marketplaces. We hope that these can keep you at peace and busy during this time that you have to stay at home.

Again, apart from the apps I listed above, the other top applications that we usually install can also be found in Huawei App Gallery: BDO, PayMaya, Citibank, Foodpanda, etc.  This proves the fact that Huawei’s software ecosystem is growing with the current and upcoming lineup of applications available for Huawei mobile users. The fact that these companies trust the software and security program of Huawei, it further cements the positive fate of Huawei Mobile Services.

If you’re using Google Mail, there’s Huawei Email too. Also, if you wish to access your Google accounts like YouTube, Google Drive and Google Search, you can easily do so with Huawei’s Browser. You can also choose to download Opera if you want some of the benefits it offers.
