The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 (and 8T) is the bestselling Android phone globally in the first quarter of 2020, according to a report from Tech Market Analyst firm, Canalys. The affordable smartphone outclassed the likes of the Samsung Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A10s.

The Redmi Note 8 isn’t perfect but it packs quite a punch for its price point. As our Editor-at-large, Emman Tortoza says in his review, “Despite all that however, I’d still say that if you need a phone that’s good at a a lot of things under the PhP10,000 price point, this one should be on your list.”
This isn’t the first time that the Redmi Note series smartphone topped the Canalys top 10 list. The Redmi Note 8 predecessor, the Redmi Note 7 was the sole Xiaomi phone on the global top 10 smartphone list at sixth place.

The Chinese company had two other phones in the top ten, with the Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi 8A clocking in at fifth and ninth, respectively.
Unsurprisingly, the iPhone 11 held a firm lead and stood at number one on the top smartphones in Q1 of 2020.
