Acer has just expanded its Chromebook offering with two convertibles – the Acer Chromebook Spin 311 and a 2K convertible the Acer Chromebook Spin 713. The Chromebook Spin 713 has been co-engineered and verified as part of Intel’s Project Athena innovation program. It also comes with an additional Enterprise upgrade.
All three new Chromebooks fully support Android apps via Google Play.
Acer Chromebook Spin 713 (CP713-2W)The Chromebook Spin 713 (CP713-2W) has the latest Intel Core processors in addition to up to 16GB DDR4 SDRAM and up to 256GB of PCIe NVMe SSD storage.
It features a 13.5-inch VertiView IPS display in 2256×1504 with a 3:2 aspect ratio providing 18% more vertical screen space. Both the touchscreen and touchpad are protected Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass making them resistant to scratches.
In addition to the Corning Gorilla Glass protection, the aluminum chassis of the Acer Chromebook Spin 713 is MIL-STD 810 compliant giving it even more protection.
The Spin 713 has two USB 3.1 Type-C ports with support for USB 3.2 Gen 1, DisplayPort over USB-C, and USB charging. It also includes an HDMI port, USB 3.0, and microSD card reader offering quite a variety of ports. As far as connectivity ports, it has dual-band Wi-Fi 6 AX201 (802.11ax) with 2×2 MU-MIMO technology and Bluetooth 5.0.
Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 713
The Chrome Enterprise update offers a solution that helps business to manage devices at scale. This is ideal for business environments where employees share devices and are mobile.
Chromebook Enterprise has a comprehensive, integrated security coverage which will help IT departments effectively. This includes controlling updates, configuring apps, utilizing extensions, and policies as well as web-based management.
Acer Chromebook Spin 311 (CP311-3H)
The Acer Chromebook Spin 311 (CP311-3H) also furthered the Chromebook offering. It is an 11.6-inch convertible Chromebook powered by a Mediatek MT8184 processor. Its battery life is said to reach up to 15-hours keeping up with users on-the-go during long days.
The Chromebook Spin 311 weighs in at just 1kg which adds to the mobility of the new Chromebook. Like the Spin 713, the Spin 311 has Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass on its HD touch IPS display. It also has an 802.11 2×2 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.2.
The Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 713 will be available in North America in August starting at USD 1099; and in EMEA in August, starting at EUR 899.
The Acer Chromebook Spin 713 (CP713-2W) will be available in North America in July starting at USD 629.99; and in EMEA in June, starting at EUR 699.
The Acer Chromebook Spin 311 (CP311-3H) will be available in North America in July starting at USD 259.99; and in EMEA in June, starting at EUR 299.
