Sony has just announced the latest addition to the Alpha 7S full-frame mirrorless camera series – the Alpha 7S III. It boasts Fast Hybrid AF and 4K 120P video recording among other features.
The Sony Alpha 7S III features a new 35mm full-frame 12.1MP back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS image sensor. This allows users to shoot in low-light situations without needing large-scale lighting setups.
It also includes a new BIONZ XR image processing engine to complement the new sensor. In addition, it has a 9.44million-dot OLED electronic eye-level viewfinder and and dual CFexpress Type A card slots.
The new mirrorless camera offers in-camera 4K recording up to 120fps, 10-bit depth, and 4:2:2 color sampling. Three color gamut settings namely S-Gamut, S-Gamut3, and S-Gamut.Cine, make it easy to integrate video recordings with other camcorders.
The Alpha 7S III includes a fast Hybrid AF system with 759-phase detection AF points covering 92% of the image sensor.
It also supports 5GHz/2.4GHz WiFi and offers MIMO (multiple-input and multiple-output to improve communication quality by using multiple antennas.
The Sony Alpha 7S III will be available in the Philippines in October 2020. Local pricing is yet to be announced.
