Xiaomi has just announced that the global launch of the Mi Smart Band 5 and Mi TWS Earphones Basic. Both of which join the growing number of products of the Chinese company.
Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5
The Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5 while being a smart band, doesn’t have an NFC chip. The version with the NFC chip remains exclusive to China.
The new Smart Band has a 1.1-inch display with support for widgets and a heart monitor which is said to be 50% more accurate than its predecessor but lacks a SpO2 sensor.
A major update with this iteration of the Mi Band is that the charging cable can be attached without removing the gadget from its wrist bands. It will launch with six official silicone wrist bands and will be pre-loaded with 65 themes for the home screen.
The band is water-resistant to ATM5 which means you can take it for a swim in the pool. It also has a total of 11 exercise modes which include jump rope and yoga.
Other tracking features include sleep tracking, female health, and stress levels. The sleep tracker has been upgraded to detect REM sleep as well as naps. The stress tracker not only tracks it but can also guide users through a breathing exercise.
The battery of the Mi Smart Band 5 is rated at 14 days.
The Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5 starts at EUR 40 (around PHP 2,260) with an early bird price at EUR 35 (around PHP 1,980).
Xiaomi Mi TWS Earphones Basic
The Xiaomi Mi TWS Earphones Basic feature 14.2mm dynamic diaphragms and support and AAC audio codec. It also uses an extra pair of mics for noise cancellation for calls.
The buds have touch controls and smart ear detection. The latter automatically pauses your music player when you take one of the buds out and resumes when you put it back in.
Pairing the buds is as simple as opening the box with a Xiaomi phone, which makes the process very simple.
The buds themselves last 5 hours on a charge and with the case has a total battery life up to 20 hours. The case itself is charged via USB-C.
The Mi TWS Earphones Basic is priced at EUR 40 with a EUR 35 price tag for early birds.
