Intel has just unveiled its 11th Generation ‘Tiger Lake’ Intel Core mobile processors for thin and light laptops. These processors will feature the company’s new Iris Xe graphics, Wi-Fi 6, Thunderbolt 4 support, and overall better performance than its predecessor.
The 11th Gen Intel Core processors are built on its new 10nm SuperFin process technology. The chips are can optimize power efficiency with leading performance and responsiveness while running at significantly higher frequencies.
As far as performance goes, Tiger Lake processors can deliver 2.7x faster content creation, more than 20% faster office productivity, and more than 2x faster gaming and streaming.
The new chips deliver 5x better AI performance. This includes AI-accelerated background blur and video super-resolution and background noise suppression via Intel Gaussian and Neural Accelerator 2.0. It also now has support for 8K HDR displays and up to four simultaneous 4K HDR displays.
The company showcased the power of the new Tiger Lake processor alongside the Iris Xe graphics which showed similar or better performance to a combination of an Intel 10th Gen chip coupled with an NVIDIA MX350 GPU in the demo.
