realme has announced the world’s first SLED 4K smart TV. While not yet on sale, the brand was generous enough to give a sneak peek into the new technology.
The technology will be featured on a 55-inch TV which will use a new panel that has 108% coverage of the NTSC color spectrum and TÜV Rheinland certification.
SLED technology uses red, green, blue LEDs to create the color triplet compared to using a white backlight fed through RGB filters like that on QLED.
The new technology gets the optimal wavelength for each color which helps render a wider color spectrum and improve overall image quality. realme believes that SLED is a superior approach to image quality than QLED.
Not much else is known about the new realme Smart TV, so we’ll just have to wait and see when the actual product comes out.
