realme has announced the world’s first SLED 4K smart TV. While not yet on sale, the brand was generous enough to give a sneak peek into the new technology.

The technology will be featured on a 55-inch TV which will use a new panel that has 108% coverage of the NTSC color spectrum and TÜV Rheinland certification.

realme-sled-smart-tv-3SLED technology uses red, green, blue LEDs to create the color triplet compared to using a white backlight fed through RGB filters like that on QLED.

The new technology gets the optimal wavelength for each color which helps render a wider color spectrum and improve overall image quality. realme believes that SLED is a superior approach to image quality than QLED.
