Samsung has just announced the Galaxy Tab Active3 for workers in the field. It comes with a rugged case that allows the tablet to survive drops from 1.5m though it’s said to survive a fall on a flat surface from 1.2m.
The Galaxy Tab Active3 is built around an 8.0-inch LCD panel which is designed to be usable even with gloves on. The tablet is also rated IP68 making it dust and water-resistant. In addition, the IP68-rated S Pen assists in navigation when gloves are too thick.
The new tablet has an Exynos 9810 chipset coupled with 4GB RAM and 64/128GB storage, expandable via microSD card. It has a 5050mAh battery which can be swapped out on the go. The tablet also has a “No Battery” mode which allows it to be a stationary kiosk.
In the optics department, it has a 5MP front camera and a 13MP camera. There’s also face recognition and fingerprint scanner for security.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active3 is available in select countries in Europe and Asia in either a Wi-Fi only or LTE model.
