Sony has just announced the Alpha 7C full-frame camera alongside the FE 28-60 F4-5.6 zoom lens, and HVL F28RM flash.
Sony Alpha 7C
The new Sony Alpha 7C is a light and compact full-frame camera that measures 124.0mm x 71.1mm x 59.7mm. It only weighs 509g, boasts 5-axis in-body stabilization and shutter units, and uses monocoque construction.
Despite the compact body, it has a high-capacity NP-FZ100 battery which is said to capture 740 images when using the LCD monitor or 680 when using the viewfinder.
Alpha 7C boasts a 24.2MP 35mm full-frame back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor and BIONZ X image processing engine. This offers high sensitivity and 15-stop wide dynamic range, and high-speed image data processing.
Standard ISO extends up to 51,200 and is expandable to ISO 50-204,800 for low-light environment captures with low noise. The camera also supports s16-bit processing and 14-bit RAW output.
It uses AI-driven functions in order to maintain accurate focus automatically while the shutter button is half-pressed. “Tracking On + AF-On” is also now assignable to a custom key and can be activated at once while the AF-ON button is pressed. The AF functions also feature Real-time Eye AF for both humans and animals.
In the video department, the Alpha 7C is able to shoot up to 4K video and supports HDR and S-Log/S-Gamut profiles, Slow & Quick motion, high-speed Full HD recording at 120 fps, among other features.
It also has a side-opening vari-angle LCD monitor making it easier to take and record selfies, overhead shots, and low ground-level shots. The camera also has a high-quality view mode for finer and more details. In addition to it, the camera features a 2.35 megadot XGA OLED Tru-Finder EVF.
The new Alpha 7C compact full-frame camera will be available in selected countries in the Asia Pacific from October 2020.
Sony FE 28-60 F4-5.6 zoom lens
The FE 28-60mm F4-5.6 is the small and lightest form factor zoom lens. It has three aspherical lens elements that suppress aberrations throughout the zoom range and realize high resolution from corner to corner.
It weighs in at 176g and clocks in at 66.6mm diameter x 45mm. The lens is also dust and moisture resistant. The FE 28-50mm F4.5.6 delivers high-speed AF which allows for Real-time Tracking and Real-time Eye AF with a linear motor.
The FE 28-60mm F4-5.6 zoom lens will be available in selected countries in the Asia Pacific from January 2021.
Sony HVL F28RM flash
Lastly, the HVL F28RM flash is a compact flash that offers consistent GN28 light output.
It has a newly developed Metal Shoe Foot with a Rugged Side Frame which houses the electrical contacts that offer improved resistance to physical shock. In addition, it is also dust and moisture resistance.
The flash angle can be set as required via 0, 20, 40, 60, 80, and 120 degrees click stops.
The HVL-F28RM flash will be available in selected countries in the Asia Pacific from November 2020.
