ASUS announced that its servers continue to dominate computing performance with a total of 683 new world-record benchmark results confirmed by Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation (SPEC).

The company holds the most amount of records on the SPEC CPU 2017 benchmark in single-socket (1P) and dual-socket (2P). These are set by servers running across Intel and AMD platforms, including the 1st and 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors and AMD EPYC 7002 processors. The workloads on the servers range from general business infrastructure, software-defined deployment, data analytics, AI, and High-Performance Computing (HPC). The results are as of September 29, 2020.

asus-specASUS servers with AMD EPYC 7002 processors hold 213 world records. This is comprised of 167 top results for single-socket performance and 46 number one results for dual-socket performance across all SPEC CPU 2017 benchmarks.

The AMD EPYC-powered servers that ASUS’ offers include GPU-optimized, high-density, and general-purpose 1U and 2U chassis. These support up to 64 cores, 128 threads, 8-channel DDR4 3200, and 128 PCIe 3.0 lanes.

Among these servers include the ASUS ESC4000A-E10, RS620SA-E10-RS12, RS720A-E9, RS700A-E10, and RS500A-E10 and RS500A-E9.

The ASUS ESC4000A-E10 is the company’s 2U GPU server with single-socket AMD EPYC for AI, HPC, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) applications in data center or environments requiring powerful CPU cores, multiple GPU support, and faster transmission speeds. It supports up to four high-performance double-shot or eight single-shot GPUs.

The RS620SA-E10-RS12, on the other hand, has six nodes in the 2U chassis with each node powered by an AMD EPYC 7002 processor. The server supports a TDP of up to 280W and up to 64 cores per node, one OCP slot per node, and PCIe 4.0 slots which include one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot. The server also supports 12 hot-swappable storage bays.

Lastly, the RS720A-E9 and RS700A-E10 are dual-socket servers in 2U and 1U chassis while the RS500A-E10 and RS500A-E9 are single-socket servers in a compact 1U chassis.

The servers feature Performance Boost technology which lets them achieve the best performance and agility.
