2020 has been interesting for everyone because of the global pandemic. vivo which has prided itself with jam-packed physical events and huge-venue product launches joins the ranks of those affected by the pandemic.
Because of this, the company has made a seamless transition to a more digital-targeted presence. This is evidenced by launches, online activities, and the top-spot Canalys ranking rewarded recently.
The achievement can be attributed to the innovative and stylish smartphones released this year backed with meaningful campaigns with each release.
Ignite your night: V19 series
The first smartphone the company launched this year was the V19 series which boasted superb night photography features.
vivo called on the millennials to ignite their night and continue to explore passions despite being stuck at home for the series’ campaign. It included a series of livestreams with beats from Kat DJ and a night photography workshop with Cocoy Ponce.
Photographers MJ Magallon and Xander Angeles also invited V19 users to try night photography by showcasing their night portraits with the smartphone on social media.
The V19 series included the V19 Neo, built for gaming and launched with a livestream hosted by JunnieBoy and Biancake and garnered over 10k viewers.
Photography redefined: X50 seriesThe X50 series launched with a gimbal technology that allowed for better photos. The company teamed up with renowned artists to share and demonstrate how they became masters in their own right for the campaign of the new series.
Photographer MJ Magallon held an astrophotography workshop using his vivo X50 Pro, while Khalil Ramos and Rhian Ramos shared their stories to accompany photos they took using the X50 Pro.
Be the Focus: V20 series
The final launch of the year for the company was the introduction of the V20 series. The series introduced a 44MP dual selfie camera with an industry-first eye autofocus technology.
The launch for the series was the most star-studded and energetic launch so far. It featured fashionista Verniece Enciso, creative explorer Marvin Fojas, viral sensation Dora Dorado, tech blogger Isadoestech, gamer JunnieBoy, and star Maine Mendoza. They put the vivo V20 Pro eye autofocus to the test and also illustrated how they managed to stand out in a crowded digital world.
The V20 series and the “Be the Focus” campaign sought to enable users to unleash their creativity and learn how to grab the spotlight online.
In addition to this, the company also used the campaign to promote mental health tips and invite millennials to focus on themselves with health advocate Frankie Pangilinan on vivo’s Facebook page.
It’s exciting to see what the company will be cooking up next year especially if and when restrictions are eased further.
