It is believed that the new Smart Tag will run alongside SmartThings but it is uncertain how. Furthermore, it is unknown how the Smart Tag will work as of writing. It could stick to just Bluetooth like other similar products in the market or could even include UWB, LTE, and/or GPS.

The company is expected to reveal the Smart Tag alongside the Galaxy S21 family which is said to be announced in mid-January 2021.
