Qualcomm has announced a new SoC. The Snapdragon 870 5G is actually a slightly more powerful version of the Snapdragon 865+. It’s already set to be used by Motorola, OPPO, Xiaomi, OnePlus, and iQOO.
Compared to the 865+ with its prime core running up to 3.1 GHz, the one in the new SoC runs at 3.2GHz. It still uses the Kryo 585 cores, along with an Adreno 650 GPU.
The Snapdragon 870 5G’s FastConnect 6800 system supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. It doesn’t have an integrated 5G modem and will be paired with an external Snapdragon X55.
It supports up to 1440p displays at 144Hz or 4K at 60Hz, along with HDR10+. The Spectra 480 ISP supports up to a 200MP sensor and 8K 30fps video recording.
