US President Donald Trump has just signed an executive order banning eight Chinese apps in the US that are said to be a threat to national security and might capture sensitive information from the user’s device.

These Chinese apps are Tencent QQ, CamScanner, SHAREit, Vmate, Alipay, QQ Wallet, WeChat Pay, and WPS Office. Because of the executive order, they won’t be made available on the US Googe Play Store in 45 days.

The apps are feared to have ties with the Chinese government and could be getting sensitive data. These are the same accusations made against TikTok and Huawei.

The executive order will take effect once President Trump steps down which could mean President-elect Joe Biden could turn things around as soon as he is sworn-in.
