Carl Pei launched a new company named Nothing around two weeks ago. Now, Pei has just confirmed in an interview with Bloomberg that Nothing will be unveiling its first wireless earphones this summer.
He also mentioned his plan to build an “ecosystem of smart devices” that can connect to each other. For now, it seems like the focus for the company will be in audio and look to expand later on.
In addition, Pei confirmed that Nothing isn’t quite well… nothing, with it having USD 15 million in backing by Alphabet’s capital investment arm, GV (formerly Google Ventures). This is in addition to the previously announced investors that include iPod inventor Tony Fadell, Reddit CEO Steve Huffman, and Twitch co-founder Kevin Lin.
The veil of mystery and nothingness of Nothing is just truly intriguing and we hope it gets on on the right foot.
