Xiaomi has announced the newest additions to its lineup of gaming-focused smartphones. Both the Black Shark 4 and Black Shark 4 Pro feature 144Hz E4 AMOLED displays with 720Hz touch sampling rate and 4,500mAh batteries with 120W fast charging, which means 0 to 100% in just 14.5 minutes.
The Black Shark 4 runs on a the Snapdragon 870 SoC, while the Pro version packs a Snapdragon 888, and also boasts a two-layer liquid cooling system that Xiaomi claims is able to increase heat dissipation by 30% apart from reducing CPU temperature by 18°C.
The vanilla model comes in 6GB/8GB/12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of storage, while the Pro model has 8GB/12GB/16GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB of storage. The latter also has the RAMDISK feature that uses RAM as disk storage, which, in turn, improves the performance of a particular app.
For optics, the Black Shark 4 has a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide unit, and a 5MP auxiliary sensor. The Pro version utilizes the same setup, except that it swaps out the 48MP sensor for a 64MP unit. Both run on JOYUI 12.5 on top of Android 11.
