OPPO has officially launched the OPPO A94 in the Philippines. The OPPO A94 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P95 coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
If you missed it, we were given a review unit of the OPPO A94 of which I released my initial gaming experience. This time around I’ll guide you around the unboxing experience as well as give you my first impressions of the new OPPO mid-ranger.
Unboxing experience
The box of the OPPO A94 is a massive step up from its predecessor – the OPPO A93. The A94 has a black box with a sleeve that’s dominantly blue with a black bottom trim. The sleeve has an A on the upper left, a pretty small glossy OPPO logo on the upper right, and OPPO A94 at the bottom.
Inside the box, you get the device itself, a 30W fast-charging charging adapter, a USB-A to USB-C cable, and headphones. It also comes with documentation, a SIM ejector tool, and a silicone case for the phone.
The OPPO A94 itself is a gorgeous-looking device that looks more similar to the OPPO A93 5G released earlier this year compared to the initially launched A93.
The A94 is built around a 6.43-inch FullHD AMOLED panel with a punch hole for its 32MP front camera. It is pretty slim both in thickness and in width which I like because it makes it easy to use with one hand.
Around the back, you’re greeted by a rectangular camera module that houses its quad-camera setup comprised of a 48MP main shooter, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP monochrome snapper. The A94 features AI Color Portrait Mode which was first introduced in the OPPO Reno series. The mode separates the subject from the background by leaving the color on the subject while turning the background grayscale.
What really captured my attention though when I first picked up the phone was the back which features what the company calls the Flowing Light Design. We were given the Fantastic Purple color which lives up to it being a fantastic color. There are hints of purple, green, and blue depending on the angle you view the phone. A gradient design on a smartphone is not new by any means but the matte, yet glossy texture
One problem I had with it though was that it was quite the fingerprint magnet. Well… At least this can be easily remedied by simply using the included silicone case.
The A94 boasts a 4310mAh battery with support for 30W VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 via USB-C. On the software front, it runs on ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11, which means no need to wait for an Android 11 rollout. That’s always cool.

Before I give you my initial rundown, here are some of my initial shots. I’ll give you more insight and more photos in my full review.
Initial Thoughts
I’m pretty impressed with the OPPO A94. Not only does it look pretty but it also performs well, from gaming to day-to-day use. Although, I think the AI Color Portrait mode could use some improvements as you can see in the photos above.
The OPPO A94 comes in two colors – Fluid Black and Fantastic Purple and priced at PHP 13,999. It is now available via OPPO concept and online stores, partner dealers, and Lazada and Shopee. In addition, you can get one via Smart Signature Plan 999 with cashout at Smart Stores across the country and the Smart Online Store.
Stay tuned for our full review on the device.
