Nubia has officially unveiled the Red Magic 6 series comprised of the Red Magic 6 and 6 Pro. The new duo is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, features a 165Hz refresh rate, and runs on Red Magic OS 4 based on Android 11.
The two devices share a 6.8-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with its 165Hz adaptive refresh rate. When the phone isn’t showing dynamic content it goes to 30Hz but goes up to 120Hz in menus or apps and up to 165Hz in supported game titles. As far as touch sampling rate goes, it supports up to 500Hz one-finger touch sampling rate and a 360Hz multi-touch sampling rate. In addition, its fingerprint scanner is housed under its display.
The signature touch-sensitive shoulder triggers returns for the Red Magic 6 series, this time supporting a 400Hz touch sampling rate. The new series also features the active cooling fan that one can expect from a Red Magic device. This now spins at 18,000 RPM on the Red Magic 6 and 20,000 RPM on the Pro version. To boost cooling, both devices also have several copper sinks.
Around the back is the triple camera setup with a 64MP main camera accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide snapper and a 2MP macro lens.
The Red Magic 6 has 8/12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128/256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage coupled with the Snapdragon 888. It also features a 5050mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging.
The Red Magic Pro, on the other hand, comes with 12/16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128/256GB UFS 3.1 storage along with the Snapdragon 888. It has a smaller 4500mAh battery but supports 120W fast charging. The Transparent Edition of the Pro maxes out the configuration at a whopping 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.
The Red Magic 6 series is currently available for pre-order in China with it officially hitting the shelves on March 11. The duo have also been confirmed to hit the global markets soon. The pricing for each configuration is as follows:
