ASUS Republic of Gamers has finally launched one of its most-anticipated product lineups for the year in the Philippines – the ROG Phone 5 series – ROG Phone 5 Classic, ROG Phone 5 Pro, and ROG Phone 5 Ultimate, along with a number of accessories to further elevate your mobile gaming experience.
ROG Phone 5 Series: Finest Performance Yet
ROG Phone 5 series is powered by no less than the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G Mobile Platform which delivers a 35% improvement in GPU performance and 25% in CPU performance. The ROG Phone 5 Ultimate, in particular, boasts 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM, increasing its overall gaming performance.
The devices also feature the upgraded GameCool 5 cooling system which utilizes a centered CPU and a battery that’s split into two parts to ensure that heat generated by the CPU is transferred to all the edges and corners of the chassis simultaneously for higher thermal efficiency. They are also equipped with a reshaped 3D vapor chamber and extensive graphite sheets which help spread the heat evenly across the device to reduce heat buildup in the middle section.
The revamped AeroActive Cooler 5 now intakes and expels an incredible amount of air directly onto the center of the device which is where the CPU is, resulting to a 10°C drop in CPU temperature.
The new Armoury Crate includes X Mode, with multiple system profiles to allow gamers to fine-tune the settings according to their preferences, letting the phone adapt to the task.
ROG Phone 5 series pack a 6,000mAh battery with new software optimizations and power-saving mechanisms, including a charging upper limit, steady charging, and enhanced scheduled charging. Passive power-saving mechanisms also limit inactive apps for up to 67% more power savings. With the bundled 65W HyperCharge adapter, gamers won’t have to wait long for the phone to be back up and ready for action again.
ROG Phone 5 Series: Immersive Mobile Gaming Experience
ROG Phone 5 series is equipped with the massively upgraded AirTrigger 5 control system that gives gamers up to four distinct ways of interacting with their ROG Phone 5, and also features two extra physical buttons for a genuine console-like experience.
The devices also supports an total of 10 different motion controls. In a racing game, for example, they can swivel the phone as an action for steering or pull it towards them to brake.
The GameFX audio system now utilizes symmetrical seven-magnet dual speakers for truly balanced stereo sound effects, optimized in collaboration with Dirac. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack, as well as a hi-fi grade ESS DAC for lossless audio processing.
Gamers can also enjoy various theme packs to personalize their devices and can also share, discuss, and interact via ROG Connect, an online community built into the ROG Phone 5 series.
ROG Phone 5 Pro and Ultimate
The ROG Phone 5 Pro and Ultimate both boast an exclusive feature called ROG Vision, which is a pioneering matrix display never before seen on any smartphone until now. The Pro variant features a colored ROG Vision display, while the Ultimate model packs a monochrome version.
ROG Vision can display a variety of cool animations that show whether the phone is charging if there’s an incoming call, whether X Mode is enabled, and more. You can even create custom animations for a more personal touch.
ROG Phone 5 Pro and Ultimate also feature hidden touch sensors on the back cover, which provide L2/R2 trigger functions just like a game console controller.
