MediaTek has just launched the Dimensity 900, its latest 5G chipset designed for mid-range smartphones. The Dimensity 900 is built on a 6nm process and is an update over the Dimensity 800 series with a faster CPU and better connectivity.
The Dimensity 900 chipset features two Cortex-A78 cores at 2.4GHz for power and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2GHz for efficiency.
The chipset supports a camera of up to 108MP resolution and up to 4K video recording at 30fps. It also supports FullHD+ panels with up to a 120Hz refresh rate, in addition to LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage.
The midrange 5G chipset supports Dual 5G which allows phones to work on two 5G networks simultaneously and combining a single 5G network with an older generation network.
The company did not mention when we’ll see a smartphone with the new chipset though.
Ram found his love and appreciation for writing in 2015 having started in the gaming and esports sphere for GG Network. He would then transition to focus more on the world of tech which has also began his journey into learning more about this world. That said though, he still has the mentality of "as long as it works" for his personal gadgets.
