Qualcomm is expected to launch a plus version of its flagship chipset based on its previous launch schedule. The schedule that the company has followed for its flagship chipsets is a launch in December followed by a plus version in July.

The Snapdragon 888 was unveiled in December, which means we can expect a Snapdragon 888+ this July. This doesn’t seem too far-fetched now as a listing of what is believed to be the upgraded flagship was spotted on Geekbench.

The upgrade that the Snapdragon 888+ brings is to the Cortex-X1 core that runs at 3.0GHz compared to its clock speed 2.84GHz on the current version. In addition, the four Cortex-A55 cores run at 1.8GHz, while the three Cortex-A78 cores run at 2.4GHz.

The new chipset scored 1,171 in the single-core test and 3,704 on the multi-core test. The results are in line with how close the scores of the Snapdragon 865 and 865+ were last year.
