realme has officially launched the realme 8 series in the Philippines at an online launch event. The new series is comprised of the realme 8 and realme 8 Pro.
realme 8 Pro
The realme 8 Pro features a 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with a 180Hz touch sampling rate and a 16MP front camera.
The highlight of the realme 8 Pro though is the 108MP main camera at the back. This is joined by an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP black and white camera. The camera also introduces a new Starry Mode, Starry Time-Lapse video, Tilt-shift time-lapse video, as well as new portrait modes.
Under the hood, the realme 8 Pro has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
It also has a 4500mAh battery with 50W SuperDart Charge support, with an included charger. 50W SuperDart Charge technology is said to charge the phone to full in 47 minutes.

The realme 8 shares the same display and front camera as its Pro sibling. Around the back, it shares the same cameras all but the 108MP primary lens which is replaced by a 64MP main camera. It also features Starry Mode, Tilt-shift mode, and new Portrait modes.
It is powered by a MediaTek Helio G95 chipset along with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
The realme 8 has a larger 5000mAh battery but tunes down the fast charging support to 30W Dart Charge with the charger included in the box. The 30W Dart Charge is said to top up the device to 100% in 65 minutes.

The realme 8 comes in Cyber Black and Cyber Silver and is priced at PHP 13,990. The realme 8 Pro, on other hand, is available in Infinite Black and Infinite Blue colorways and with a price of PHP 16,990.
Pre-orders for the realme 8 Pro begin tonight until May 21, for those that pre-order, you’ll also receive a free realme Buds Air Pro worth PHP 4,990. The device will be available starting May 22. The realme 8, on the other, will be available starting May 13.

PlayMaya tournament
To celebrate the launch of the realme 8 series, the company is co-presenting PayMaya’s inaugural PlayMaya tournament on May 14. The nationwide esports tournament features Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Call of Duty Mobile, and PUBG Mobile.
Several activities are in store for gamers and esports fans including a raffle sponsored by PayMaya as well as a celebrity exhibition match featuring Filipino streamer Ghost Wrecker.
