Samsung has just filed the phrases “Armor Skin” and “Armor Layer” at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
These further have been reports that Samsung was developing an “Armor” series of new design features for its future devices. The “Armor Skin” and “Armor Layer” are the latest in its additions as its EUIPO applications were spotted. The two new technologies could be applied to displays, rear panels, or both of them.
Prior to the recent filing, the company trademarked “Armor Frame” in EU, US, and South Korea.
The Armor technology looks like the company is committed to make its future devices tougher and more resistant to damage.
These are all speculated to be featured in future Galaxy devices including watches. Not much else is known about the Samsung “Armor” technology or how it works but it is expected to be revealed in late 2021 or 2022.
