Huawei has just refreshed its smart watch offerings with the Huawei Watch 3 series – the Watch 3 and the Watch 3 Pro.
The Huawei Watch 3 series features a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a 466×466 resolution and 326 ppi. In addition to the upgrade in the face itself, they feature a 3D rotating crown on the right side of the watch for navigation. Rotating the crown allows you to switch between menus, while pressing it allows you to enter or exit a menu.
These are also the first smart watches that are built with the company’s OS, HarmonyOS.
Huawei Watch 3
The watch body of the vanilla Watch 3 is built from 316L stainless steel while the back is made of ceramic. The display, on the other hand, is protected by strengthened glass.
The watch is water-resistant to up to 5 ATM. Without the strap, the Watch 3 weighs 54g and is 12.15mm thick.
It tracks SpO2, heart rate, sleep, and stress levels, as expected from a smart watch in this day and age. Additionally, it features a skin temperature sensor. The watch also includes a medication reminder function.
The watch also supports over 100 sports modes and 17 professional workout modes. It also has positioning support with GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou, and QZSS.
The Watch 3 supports an eSIM with a 4G connection which allows you to make and receive calls from the watch itself. It also has AppGallery meaning you can download apps directly to the watch, without the need of a smartphone. The company did not mention the chipset but it is confirmed to have 2GB RAM and 16GB storage on board.
Another feature that it introduces includes streaming music from Huawei Music and sending it to your Bluetooth headphones. Moreover, you can also answer video calls but you won’t be seen. Although thanks to HarmonyOS, you’ll be able to use another device like the Huawei Vision S Series as a camera source.
The watch also supports translation apps for your travels and recording voice notes for quickly noting down your thoughts while on the go.
As far as battery life goes, it is said to offer up to 4 days of use with Smart Mode and 14 days of use with Ultra-Long Battery Mode. It charges wirelessly.
