Infinix Philippines has just announced that it has hired Bianca Yao, better known as Biancake, as its Chief Gaming Officer.

As Chief Gaming Officer of Infinix, Bianca Yao will leverage her position to show how gaming can foster close friendships and genuine connections, even at a time of social distancing.

The announcement of this partnership coincides with Yao’s 10th anniversary in the local gaming scene in addition to the launch of the Infinix HOT 10S in the country. The HOT 10S packs a MediaTek Helio G85 processor, a 90Hz refresh rate, a 48MP triple camera, and a 6000mAh battery.

Mainstream acceptance for mobile gaming has increased with Filipinos stuck at home due to lockdowns. Over 90% of Filipino internet susers saying they have played on their smartphones in the past year, according to We Are Soical and Hootsuite. Additionally, esports has been recognized as an official sport by the government and its players as national athletes.

As the gaming scene in the Philippines matures, Bianca believes that it can evolve from a fun community into an industry that can employ Filipinos, even in the pandemic.

“As a gamer myself, I dream that gaming would open more doors of opportunities for everyone. Ram found his love and appreciation for writing in 2015 having started in the gaming and esports sphere for GG Network.
