Samsung Galaxy A22 5G and 4G Launched with 90Hz Display

Samsung has just launched the Samsung Galaxy A22, its most affordable 5G device alongside an LTE variant.

Both variants feature 5000mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging. In addition, their fingerprint sensors are side-mounted.

The Samsung Galaxy A22 5G has a 6.6-inch 1080p+ LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. Its 8MP front camera is housed in a waterdrop notch up front.

Around the back, it has a 48MP main rear camera, a 5MP ultra wide angle lens, and a depth sensor.

The 5G variant is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset coupled with 4/6/8GB RAM and 64/128GB internal storage.

It is thicker, heavier, and bigger than its 4G sibling at 167.2 x 76.4 x 9.0mm and weighs 203g.

The 4G option comes with a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED panel with a 720p+ resolution but it retains the 90Hz refresh rate. It bumps up the selfie camera to a 13MP house in a U-shaped waterdrop notch.

The rear camera setup is slightly different as well. It retains the 48MP main rear camera but adds OIS. In addition, the ultra-wide angle camera is bumped up to a 5MP sensor and joined by a 2MP macro camera along with the depth sensor.

The 4G option measures in at 159.3 x73.6×8.4mm and weighs 186g.

The 5G variant of the Galaxy A22 will be available in select regions in gray, white, mint, and violet colorways. The base 4GB/64GB is available for EUR 230 in Netherlands. Meanwhile in Belgium, its start at a larger 4/128GB variants priced at EUR 250.

The price and availability for the 4G option has yet to be announced. It does, however, come in four colors – black, white, mint, and violet.
