CryptoBlades $SKILL hit an all-time high during the weekend and have been stable from $110 to $130. For the uninitiated, CryptoBlades is a Play to Earn NFT game developed by Riveted Games on the Binance Smart Chain platform. Gamers mint their own characters and weapons in the ERC-721 standard, which they can trade in the marketplace. As a P2E game, what players earn is SKILL through gameplay and NFTs.
As of this writing, the barrier to entry is not too high compared to other P2E platforms. This made things easier for newcomers and existing players to create a new or additional account.
The game, while devoid of fancy graphics and animations, only requires about 20 to 30 minutes of players per day to earn some extra moolah. According to our computation and based on its price as of this writing, a winning match can give you around PhP180 to PhP250 using a Level 15 character. Of course, this value will depend on the performance of $SKILL so you have to take note of this very carefully.
At some point, you’ll be faced with the dilemma of waiting for the time your ROI realizes or create a new account from your existing $SKILL yield (whether staked or not). Whatever path players take, they need to track the performance of their account/s and check if their characters already have enough stamina to play a match. Players also need to know if their characters have enough XP to be added, and finally trigger the XP gain button while minimizing gas fees.
CryptoBlades is an evolving game. Players expect more updates to be pushed in the future including PVP, Raid, Leaderboard rewards, and improved logs.
CBTracker by e3Dath
I have been scratching my head to make a Google Sheets monitoring tool. While I have had small successes, I was not able to take into consideration several features like stamina and XP gain check. I have minimal understanding on programming a simple app that can let me monitor these things at east. Fortunately, CryptoBlades has an API that can be forked by developers and viewable smart contracts that will allow third-party developers to create trackers. This is where CBTracker comes in, and it might just be the easiest way to display the following on one page:
- Address (that you can hide)
- Characters – ID, Level, Element, XP, Amount of XP needed to Claim, Stamina Available
- Unclaimed Skills
- Staked Skills
- Skills in Wallet
- BNB Balance
- Total Assets
We asked the developer, eD3ath, in a Discord interview and he said that the data is pulled from Smart Contracts, which makes it easy for players to track the performance of their game. He also said that it’s 101% safe too as the web app does not require permissions from your Metamask or Wallet, or your seed phrase, as it only asks for the address of the account you want to monitor.
(PSA: Do not engage in any app or extension that will request for your seed phrase.)
The app which can be checked on this link has a GitHub page that will allow other devs to contribute or fork the app. In my interview with eD3ath, he needs help in user-interface as web design is one of his weaknesses. (If you are a dev, you can contribute or give eD3ath a hand.)
How to Install or create a version of CBTracker on your PC:
In fact, it is fairly easy to install the app on your computer as well so you don’t need to visit the site. All you have to do is to do the following steps:
- Download and install the following:
- Open Git bash and type the following below:
$ git clone https://github.com/ed3ath/cbtracker
$ cd cbtracker
$ npm install- Fire up the application:
$ node app.js- Go to your browser and visit localhost:3000
You should now be able to see all the accounts and relevant information associated with them.
What is additional potential use for this app?
With this application, it is now much easier to assume a manager role and monitor the performance of your scholars, provided that you have the address to be tracked.
A Strong Reminder
CrytoBlades is anchored on NFT and cryptocurrency. It is a highly volatile form of investment. Investing in Cryptocurrency is VERY risky. If you do not know what you are getting into, putting your money in cryptocurrency exchange is not something I will recommend. Build your savings, buy insurance, pay off your existing loans, buy things that are essential and invest the rest.
