Avenir Telecom has just launched its first Energizer-branded 5G phone called the Energizer Hard Case G5 alongside a new entry-level 4G device – the Energizer Ultimate U680S.
Energizer Hard Case G5
The Hard Case G5, as the name hints at, is a rugged device with G5, I mean 5G support. It has an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance and can go down to 1.2m depth for half an hour.
Additionally, it has several layers of industrial rubber around the device itself. This is said to allow the phone to survive drops of 1.2m heights. It also has a special liner that allows the phone to withstand electrostatic shocks.
This is all built around a 6.3-inch FullHD+ LCD panel protected by Gorilla Glass 5. It also has a 8MP upfront housed in a waterdrop notch.
Rounding out the optic department are a trio of cameras led by a 48MP camera coupled with a 13MP ultra-wide camera and a 20MP night camera with an infrared illuminator.
Under the hood, it is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 720 chipset accompanied by 6GB RAM and 128GB expandable storage via microSD.
The Hard Case G5 boasts a 5000mAh battery that charges via a USB-C port. It doesn’t have a 3.5mm headphone jack but it does have a waterproof speaker. Moreover, it runs on Android 11 and includes NFC and an FM radio.
Energizer Ultimate U680S
On the other hand, the Energizer Ultimate U680S has a 6.8-inch IPS LCD display with a 720p resolution. Housed in the waterdrop notch is its 5MP front shooter. Around the back, it has a 13MP main camera along with a 2MP lens and a VGA sensor.
The Ultimate U680S is powered by a Unisoc SC9863A chipset accompanied by 2GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage via a microSD card. Despite this, it looks like it runs on full Android 11 instead of Android Go Edition.
What’s more impressive about the entry-level device is it boasts a 7000mAh battery pack that charges via USB-C. It also features a 3.5mm headphone jack and an FM radio but it doesn’t have NFC.
Price and availability
The Energizer Hard Case G5 will be available for USD 600 and will hit the market between October and November. Meanwhile, the Ultimate U680S is priced at USD 140 and has 3 years of warranty.
