Huawei has now joined the under-display front camera picture after it filed a patent for a smartphone with the technology. The official documents came with illustrations that helped LetsGoDigital to create renders of the phone.
The renders look like the HONOR X20 SE even with the triple camera setup at the rear. This may hint at a mid-range device. Although, these are just based on the drawings in the documents which may mean that Huawei could still change things.
The patent was filed with the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). This isn’t much of a surprise as China is the company’s major smartphone market nowadays.
Currently, ZTE is the only company with an under-display selfie camera out in the market. However, it is expected that the Samsung Galaxy Fold3 will feature the technology. OPPO is also said to be working on its own version as well though.
It looks like things will get exciting in the front camera department in the following years with more companies willing to field their own under-display selfie camera.
