MediaTek has just launched the MediaTek Helio G96 and Helio G88 4G chipsets, its latest mid-range SoCs.
Both mid-ranged chipsets are equipped with the company’s HyperEngine 2.0 Lite game technology. It is said to intelligently manage CPU, GPU, and memory for a smoother gaming experience. Additionally, it is also said to smart switch between Wi-Fi and 4G connections.
The MediaTek Helio G96 supports display with up to a 120Hz refresh rate and up to FullHD+ resolution. It supports both LCD and AMOLED panels as well. Moreover, it can integrate up to a 108MP camera.
The Helio G96 has two Arm Cortex-A76 CPUs clocked at 2.05GHz and has LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage. It supports Cat-13 4G LTE WorldMode modem integration, dual 4G SIM, and VoLTE and ViLTE services. It also features the company’s Intelligent Resource Management Engine and Networking Engine.
The MediaTek Helio G88, on the other hand, supports up to a FullHD+ panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. It features two Arm Cortex-A75 cores at 2.0GHz.
The Helio G88 also supports up to 64MP main cameras, a hardware depth engine for dual-camera bokeh captures, a Camera Control Unit (CCU), Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), and Rolling Shutter Compensation (RSC) technologies. It comes with integrated voice wakeup for voice assistant services as well.
