Qualcomm has just announced the Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders, a new device done in partnership with ASUS for the 1.6 million ‘Snapdragon Insiders’. Snapdragon Insiders is a community of fans and enthusiasts who participate in online forums.
The Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders is built around a 6.78-inch Samsung AMOLED panel with a 2448x1080p resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Its display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus as well.
It has a bezel on the top of the panel for its 24MP front camera. Meanwhile, around the back, it has a 64MP main camera accompanied by a 12MP ultrawide lens and an 8MP telephoto snapper. The fingerprint scanner is also found in the back.
The camera app will feature Qualcomm AI software features like auto zoom and AI object tracking but its actual tuning will be done by ASUS.
Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 coupled with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It has a 4000mAh battery and comes with a Quick Charge 5.0 charger. This is said to charge to 70% in 30 minutes or charge to full in 50 minutes.
The Qualcomm Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders is priced at USD 1,500 but with the device comes TWS earbuds with Snapdragon Sound, a bumper case, a Qualcomm Quick Charge 5.0 power adapted, and two charging cables. It is expected to be sold by ASUS sometime in August in China, the US, UK, Japan, South Korea, Germany, and eventually India.
