Product Manager at TikTok, Crew Kirchhoff has just revealed in an official message that the platform will be rolling out the option to create longer videos of up to 3 minutes. This is after building up its popularity for sharing 60-second videos.
According to Kirchhoff, creators have been talking to TikTok wanting longer videos to lessen the need to split the videos to “like and follow for part 2” videos. This means that viewers will spend up to three times longer on the app, which maximizes engagement.
Longer videos have been tested with some users but the announcement makes it available to all users. This will be rolled out in the coming weeks.
