iQOO has confirmed on its official Weibo that it will unveil the iQOO 8 series on August 17.
The poster roughly translates to “Full Control on the verge of iQOO 8 series conference”. While this definitely sounds lost in translation, it seems to hint at the performance of the new iQOO series.
The new series is expected to feature the Snapdragon 888+ chipset coupled with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The company showcased the 120W charging technology at the ChinaJoy convention. While it can be assumed that the new series will feature, an unconfirmed rumor hints that it will support up to 160W charge speeds instead.
DigitalChatStation, meanwhile, reports that the iQOO 8 will have a Samsung E5 LPTO AMOLED panel with 1400x3200p.
The device was also spotted at the ChinaJoy convention, albeit in an enclosure. Despite the enclosure, the front and bottom of the device were still visible. The front features curved edges on the left and right of the panel, while the bottom shows a USB-C port.
