MediaTek has just launched the MediaTek Dimensity 920 and Dimensity 810 – its latest chipsets built on the 6nm process. These are upgrades of the Dimensity 900 and 800, respectively.
Both chipsets are octa-core CPUs and bring support for FullHD+ displays with up to a 120Hz refresh rate.
The MediaTek Dimensity 920 has Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.5GHz along with Cortex-A55 cores at 2GHz. It has a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU which is said to be optimized for power efficiency. This is said to offer 9% better gaming performance that its predecessor.
The 920 supports LPDDR4x and LPDDR5 RAM as well as UFS 2.2 and UFS 3.1 storage. Moreover, it supports Dual 5G SIM connectivity and VoNR. It also includes the latest Wi-Fi standards, 2×2 MIMO, and Bluetooth 5.2.
Meanwhile, the Dimensity 810 chip is the first Dimensity 800 chip built on the 6nm process. It also offers dual 5G SIM.
As far as cores go, it has Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.5GHz and Cortex-A55 cores but its speeds weren’t confirmed. It features a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU and support for up to LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.
Both chipsets are expected to debut on a smartphone as early as Q3 2021.
Ram found his love and appreciation for writing in 2015 having started in the gaming and esports sphere for GG Network. He would then transition to focus more on the world of tech which has also began his journey into learning more about this world. That said though, he still has the mentality of "as long as it works" for his personal gadgets.
