According to a report from XDA Developers, Xiaomi products will no longer carry the “Mi” branding moving forward. This started with the recent MIX 4 smartphone.
The strategy will be done across the company’s products including its smartphones and smart products. The company doesn’t actually mention the reason behind the sudden change but it is speculated that the company is aligning its global branding strategy with China where devices don’t carry the “Mi” name.
This means that instead of the Mi, Redmi, and POCO brandings, we’ll only see Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO from here on out.
