Recent reports indicate that a number of Xiaomi users have been running into issues with proximity sensors on some devices. What causes these issues is not certain, but what’s known is that Xiaomi isn’t sleeping on it.
Perhaps coincidentally, or maybe something connected, Xiaomi has also switched its supplier of proximity sensors from Elliptic Labs to Minghao Sensing.
The company will also be seeding OTA updates for affected devices in an attempt to rectify the bugs, though some users think that this is a hardware issue. For now, we’ll just have to see how this goes.
