I am a father of two kids and I clearly understand the struggle of parents of imposing discipline over the use of technology on their kids. I have also spoken with teachers and parents during annual school symposiums about social media and technology, and I can definitely say that kids are too exposed to content that may not be appropriate for their age. It’s an issue that parents and teachers have been going through, and at the end of the day, we would not want them to be deprived of the benefits of technology while giving them a sense of discipline and security with the content they face every day.
In the video below, I’ll talk about how I actually help my kids embrace the value of technology while letting them understand why I – as a parent – need to put certain levels of discipline on their screen-time usage. What’s even interesting is that there is this specific tablet from Huawei – the Huawei MatePad T8 Kids Edition – that’s specifically designed for kids to meet certain needs like online education, eye protection, and content consumption that fits their age.
